Candlelight vigil is held for the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings.
April 16, 2013
More than 1,000 people attend the vigil at Garvey Park in memory of 8-year-old Martin Richard, one of the three people killed the day before in the bombings. The boy’s mother and sister were seriously injured in the blast, and his father Bill Richard is a community activist in the Ashmont section of Dorchester. A statue of Martin Richard is installed in Bridgewater in 2015.*
